Culter have won the double and are still on for a treble after beating Maud 2-1 in the McLeman Cup final on Saturday – but are on the lookout for a new manager.
Andy Gibson has announced he will step down as Culter manager after this weekend’s final game of the season after five successful seasons at the club.
Gibson has won three Superleague titles and the former Don also led the junior club into the third round of the Scottish Cup last season, where they forced League 2 side Berwick Rangers into a replay.
The former Peterhead coach held talks with Highland League side Cove Rangers about succeeding Kevin Tindal before the Allan Park side appointed former manager John Sheran.
After winning the league title last midweek Culter were on the back foot when Maud took the lead on 16 minutes after James Duguid capitalised on a mix up in the Culter defence.
The lead did not last long, though, as George McBain levelled on the half hour with a tidy finish.
The winner came minutes before half time as Lee Murray rose to score a stunning header for Culter.
Both sides had chances in a scrappy second half, but Culter held on to their 2-1 lead.
The champions can give Gibson the perfect send-pff when they take on Banks o’ Dee in the Domino’s Pizza North Regional Cup at Ian Mair Park in Dyce on Saturday.
