Aberdeen have refused to comment on reports linking them with a move for out of contract Kilmarnock attacker Kris Boyd.
The 30-year-old, who 22 goals helped keep Killie in the Scottish Premiership last season, is a free agent after his contract with the Rugby Park club expired.
Kilmarnock manager Allan Johnston has expressed his desire to keep Boyd at Rugby Park but Dundee United manager Jackie McNamara has held talks with the former Rangers forward and believes his experience can help his talented young squad at Tannadice.
Dons manager Derek McInnes and Gers manager Ally McCoist have also been linked with the attacker, whose form for Killie resulted in him being nominated for the PFA Scotland player of the year and a Scotland squad recall.
