Aberdeen midfielder Willo Flood will use the pain of missing out on second place to fuel his drive at Pittodrie next season.
Missing out on a second place finish to Motherwell on the last day of the campaign hurt former Dundee United midfielder Flood.
The 29-year-old is eager to make amends by going one better when the new season gets underway on August 9.
Flood, who will return for pre-season training on Thursday, said: “Losing to Motherwell on the last day of the season was disappointing but this is just the start for Aberdeen and we want to kick on next season, get that second place and have more good cup runs.
“It was a season of huge progress for us in terms of going from four years of being in the bottom six to finishing third and winning a cup.
“We’ve already got Europe to look forward to which is going to be even more exciting and I cannot wait.”
