Aberdeen midfielder Willo Flood celebrated the best year of his career last season but the Irishman believes there are even better days to come at Pittodrie.
Flood played an integral part as the Dons finished third in the Scottish Premiership and won the League Cup.
With Dons manager Derek McInnes having secured Shay Logan to a permanent deal and brought in new signings in goalkeeper Scott Brown and defender Ash Taylor Flood is confident the club can build on a successful campaign.
He said: “I enjoyed the biggest high of my career and I believe we can have more. I’ve played in front of 40,000 Aberdeen supporters and I don’t think any other club in the country outside the Old Firm could do that.
“Losing to Motherwell on the last day of the season was disappointing but this is just the start for Aberdeen and we want to kick on next season, get that second place and have more good cup runs.”
Missing out on a second-place finish to Motherwell hurt former Dundee United midfielder Flood, 29, and has fuelled his desire to make the new campaign an even more successful one.
He said: “It was a season of huge progress for us in terms of going from four years of being in the bottom six to finishing third and winning a cup.
“The chairman has backed the manager, who has recruited well, so I hope we can go on to have an even better season. We’ve already got Europe to look forward to which is going to be even more exciting and I cannot wait.”
