Kilmarnock chairman Michael Johnston has not given up hope of persuading Kris Boyd to remain at Rugby Park.
The 30-year-old scored 22 goals last season to help the Rugby Park side remain in Scotland’s top flight.
The out-of-contract forward has been linked with a move to Aberdeen, Dundee United, Rangers and French side Nimes but Johnston wants Boyd to stay at Killie.
He said: “I spoke with Kris and his agent before he went off on holiday and it was a very positive meeting. He is a hero here, he knows he will be first man on the teamsheet, so I hope those factors will lead to him staying.”
