Burton Albion manager Gary Rowett is considering offering freed Aberdeen forward Calvin Zola a return to the League 2 club.
Zola, who scored 34 goals in 96 appearances for Burton before moving to Pittodrie last summer, had his contract cancelled by manager Derek McInnes on Tuesday.
Burton manager Rowett said: “He is a player we will consider because as we know, on his day, Calvin was unplayable.
“He brings athleticism and pace and something unpredictable to our side.
“We were sorry to see Calvin go in the first place. I’ve been aware of his situation up there and I made a couple of enquiries last season to bring him back on loan which didn’t quite work out.
“It’s not something I’ve chased up, but I have had discussions with his agent over the summer.”
