Aberdeen vice-captain Mark Reynolds believes the Dons have proved they are quick learners in Europe.
The Dons are in Latvia for the second leg of their Europa League first qualifying round match against Daugava Riga and hold a 5-0 lead following their impressive first leg win at Pittodrie last week.
Groningen of the Netherlands lie in wait for the winners of the tie but Reynolds, one of the few players at Pittodrie with European experience before this season, insists his side can look forward to Europe with confidence following their excellent start to the campaign.
He said: “We will be exposed to new things and out of our element but we will make sure we adapt.
“We stepped up and answered a lot of questions about us last season and we can do that again in Europe.
“There are some massive games and clubs with great pedigree in the later rounds but it’s a long way off. We took it one tie and one game at a time last season and we will do the same again as if we look too far ahead we can trip ourselves up.
“Looking at the teams who are in the competition there are some massive ties and even if we didn’t make the group stages landing one of the big European teams would be an achievement in itself.”
