Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes insists his club’s hopes of progressing in Europe remain alive despite their 2-0 defeat to Real Sociedad last night.
The Dons were on course for a creditable goalless draw from the first leg in San Sebastian but second half goals from David Zurutuza and Sergio Canales gave the Spaniards the advantage heading into next Thursday’s Europa League third qualifying round second leg.
But McInnes said: We need to learn from what happened and Next week we will have to go out and attack, to score a goal. We won’t give up.
“Next Thursday we will go out in front of our fans, who have given us a lot of support, and we hope to give them something to cheer.
“There are 90 minutes left, it will be difficult. It’s a challenge and we hope to be stronger and cause Real more problems.”
