Dutch football legend Patrick Kluivert has applied to become manager of Ross County.
Club chairman Roy MacGregor confirmed this afternoon that the Champions League winner is keen to replace Derek Adams, who was sacked earlier this week.
“I cannot believe the quality of candidates,” Mr MacGregor said.
“I want someone who wants to better themselves. I want someone who wants to use Ross County as a stepping stone to bigger and better things.
“That’s the language I want to hear.”
Kluivert was part of Louis Van Gaal’s Ajax side which won the Champions League in 1995.
He also played for AC Milan, Barcelona, Newcastle and Valencia during his glittering career.
He won 79 caps for Holland and played in the 1998 World Cup.
