Footballers love Twitter. That’s a fact.
So the Press and Journal online has started a new daily column rounding up the best posts by footballers across the UK to Instagram, Twitter, Vimeo… Any social platform really.
So here it goes:
There really is no escaping the independence referendum debate, with even Scotland’s footballers past and present using social media to voice their opinions on the matter.
Former Aberdeen star Steve Archibald made his feelings quite clear this afternoon.
Self government, self control and self esteem ! That is what independence will bring to Scotland, vote YES !

However, St Mirren midfielder John McGinn may well have the best answer to the whole debate.
I suggest Alex salmond v Alastair darling live at the hydro Thursday night. 12 rounds. Winner takes all #indyref

Back on the pitch, tonight sees the return of the Champions League and Real Madrid’s Welsh superstar Gareth Bale is hoping he can help the Spanish giants add to their already impressive trophy haul in the tournament.

Arsenal may not have got the result they wanted on Saturday but their German midfielder Mesut Ozil certainly got the picture that he was after.
The Gunners could only draw at home against Manchester City but after the game Ozil posed with Samuel L Jackson after the actor found his way into the Arsenal changing room.
