Aberdeen midfielder Ryan Jack will discover today whether he faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to a knee injury.
Jack suffered a suspected medial knee ligament injury in his side’s 4-0 win against Livingston in the League Cup on Tuesday night.
The Dons hoped Jack would be scanned yesterday but it will take place today.
Manager Derek McInnes said: “Ryan’s started the season well and we’re keeping our fingers crossed it isn’t a serious injury which will keep him out for a long period of time.”
The 22-year-old was carried off after 71 minutes as the Dons started the defence of the trophy with a resounding victory at Pittodrie.
Jack’s injury took the shine off the victory for McInnes, who was pleased to overcome a resilient Livi side.
He said: “Livingston were very good. We had to change our shape slightly because they were getting too much of the ball but once we did that we looked stronger and, while the scoreline flattered us, we were worthy of our win.”
