Ross County have appointed Scott Thomson as the club’s goalkeeping coach. Staggies goalkeeper Mark Brown had the job since the summer, however manager Jim McIntyre is keen for the 33-year-old to concentrate on playing.
McIntyre has turned to Thomson, who previously held the same position at Dunfermline, Dundee United and Hibernian, but has been without a club since leaving the Easter Road side last season.
The Staggies manager said: “Mark is young and has shown in the last couple of performances he’s a key player.
“He’s done exceptionally well for us.
“I just think, to keep him as sharp as he can be, we’ve got to have a goalkeeping coach.
“We brought Scott in and I am very grateful to the chairman and the board for allowing me to bring him in, because we can’t have goalkeepers working on their own.
“They need a goalkeeping coach and we’re delighted to have Scott.
“He’s got great experience, he’s worked with some good clubs, and everywhere he’s been he is very well thought of.”
