Jim McInally admits he has a tough task ahead of him in trying to replace Graeme Sharp.
The 30-year-old called time on his Blue Toon career after yesterday’s League 1 game against Ayr United as he is moving to Greece due to work commitments.
The loss of the club’s longest-serving player is a huge blow to McInally, who has been struggling to find a replacement.
He said: “Sharpy has been brilliant for me in my time here and I know he was highly thought of by the other managers he worked with.
“At this level he has been a model professional and he will be sorely missed as he was a popular figure in the changing room.
“He told me a couple of weeks ago he was leaving as he wanted to give me as much time as possible to find a replacement but I still haven’t got one.
“He’s such a versatile player, having moved from a winger to full back and getting someone in to take his place hasn’t been easy.”
