Scotland under-19s suffered a late and potentially damaging collapse in Lithuania as they let a two-goal
lead slip against Finland in the opening game of the 2015 European under-19 championship qualifying round.
Celtic attacker Paul McMullan gave Scotland the lead in the 33rd minute before team-mate Liam Henderson doubled the advantage with a penalty on the hour mark.
But two goals in the final 14 minutes cost Ricky Sbragia’s side victory.
Fredrik Lassas pulled a goal back before the Finns grabbed an injury time equaliser through Saku Savolainen to ensure a share of the spoils.
Scotland will face the group hosts Lithuania in tomorrow’s second match before completing their week in Lithuania with a final game against Norway on Sunday.
The group winners and runners-up will progress to the elite round which is due to be held in the spring of 2015.
This season’s finals will take place in Greece in July 2015.
