Scotland under-19s missed out on reaching the European championship elite round after being to held a draw with Norway on Sunday.

Kilmarnock youngster Robbie Muirhead put Ricky Sbragia’s side in front and on course to progress from qualifying Group 13 with an astonishing long range effort in the 26th-minute.

With hosts Lithuania thrashing Finland 3-0, the young Scots would have won the section had they kept that lead intact.

But a Morten Thorsby goal for the Norwegians 10 minutes from time ensured Scotland finished third in the group with three points from three draws.
