Peterhead attacker Andy Rodgers has been given a two match ban by the Scottish FA for tweets sent following his side’s defeat to Dunfermline.
Peterhead’s Jamie Redman, Steven Noble and Jordan Brown were all sent off as the Blue Toon lost 3-0 at East End Park on September 27 and Rodgers took to social media to vent his displeasure.
Rodgers accused Pars player Josh Falkingham of cheating during the game and also made derogatory comments about the town of Dunfermline and the county of Fife, referring to locals as “absolute creatures” and “mutants” before deleting the tweets.
Regarding Falkingham, Rodgers wrote: “Positive from today is that at least I’m not Josh Falkingham…what a horrible cheating ******** of a boy!!!!!”
A statement from Peterhead read: “Andy Rodgers has been suspended for two games following Twitter comments made in the wake of our recent defeat to Dunfermline.”
The forward will miss Saturday’s match against Airdrieonians with the second match of the ban suspended until the end of the season.
