Brora Rangers manager Davie Kirkwood hopes to use Sunday’s 3-1 North Cup triumph against Elgin City as springboard to bring even more success to the Sutherland side.
Brora are rolling towards another championship but Kirkwood would not be drawn on whether the Sutherland side should press for a place in senior football at the end of the season when the new play-offs begin.
Kirkwood said: “Who knows what is going to happen towards the end of the season? My job as manager of Brora Rangers is to try to win every game we play.
“My concern is not whether the club wants to go up into League 2. I don’t pay the bills so that would be someone else’s decision.”
It is second top against second bottom tonight when the champions host Fort William at Dudgeon Park.
Kirkwood will be taking nothing for granted and added: “Fort have definitely improved this season. They went 1-0 up against us at Claggan Park when he beat them 6-2 last month and have had some really good results since.
“We will show them just as much respect as we do every other opponent every week.”
Fort manager Calum MacLean knows the size of the challenge ahead.
He said: “It really is a daunting match, especially in midweek when quite a few of our players are unable to make the trip due to work commitments.
“We will give it our best shot. Hopefully they will still be feeling the effects of the cup final.”
