Ross County midfielder Terry Dunfield faces a race against time in order to be fit for his side’s game against Aberdeen on Monday.
Dunfield, 31, made his debut against Celtic earlier this month before picking up a groin strain in training.
Staggies manager Jim McIntyre confirmed the Canadian international is an injury doubt for the visit of the Dons to Victoria Park.
McIntyre said: “Terry has a groin strain which we’ll assess later in the week.
“Sometimes it’s just bad luck. Terry just slipped in training and hurt his groin, yet he’d done a wee bit more than the rest of the new players.
“It’s got to be gradual. We haven’t yet realised the full potential in the squad, but the one thing I do know is the players we’ve brought in are good players.
“They have good qualities and, hopefully, that help the players we already had.”
