Michael Gardyne is loving life at Ross County – even though the Staggies are bottom of the league.
The 28-year-old returned to County on loan from Dundee United at the start of September and has relished the opportunity to play after being frozen out at Tannadice.
Gardyne said: “I am loving being back here. I am playing regularly and enjoying training every day. I wasn’t enjoying it at Dundee United because I wasn’t playing.
“Coming here and playing the way the manager wants us to play has been great for me.
“We are not in the best of positions in the league but there is a belief we can get out of it.”
County were defeated 1-0 by Aberdeen at Victoria Park on Monday and have won only once in nine matches. However, Gardyne saw plenty of positives in their tussle against the Dons that the Staggies can take into this weekend’s match at Kilmarnock.
Gardyne spent last season on loan at Killie but believes Jim McIntyre’s side can record their second win of the season at Rugby Park.
He added: “We have another huge game on Saturday and we need to get up for it. The games are coming thick and fast.
“We have had a tough run of fixtures and another difficult one against Kilmarnock, even though they are on the back of a bad result.
“We were still in the Aberdeen game until the end but it was disappointing because we didn’t play the way we can.
“The goal we conceded was not very good from our point of view and that’s something we will be looking to rectify. But, without a doubt, there are signs of progress in the last few weeks.
“Take the Celtic game out of the equation and we have been playing well and creating chances but we didn’t do that enough against Aberdeen.
“The manager and his assistant (Billy Dodds) have been really positive and they know how they want us to play like getting the ball down and passing it.
“They have confidence in the players we have got at the club.”
