An excellent Ross County picked up their first away win of the season with a 3-0 victory against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.
The Staggies never looked back after taking the lead in the 33rd minute when Graham Carey’s strike flew into the net off the crossbar.
Jim McIntyre’s side capitalised on some terrible Killie defending five minutes before the interval when Michael Gardyne was given all the time he wanted to waltz through on goal before guiding the ball past a bemused Craig Samson.
And the Staggies supporters had even more to cheer on the stroke of half time when Paul Quinn was left unmarked to volley home a Carey corner.
As expected, Kilmarnock made a rousing start to the second half but County weathered the storm and soon begin to exert their authority once again as the natives grew restless.
The Staggies should have netted a fourth when Carey picked out the unmarked Jackson Irvine six yards out but the Aussie’s weak header was comfortably held by Samson.
Josh Magennis almost pulled a goal back for Killie with a powerful effort from 25 yards that was tipped over by Mark Brown but the visitors managed to see out the game with ease.
The only negative for McIntyre will be that his in-form side has to wait until after the international break to return to action.
