Peterhead have been ordered to replay their match with Ayr United after they were found guilty of fielding an ineligible player.
Defender Reece Donaldson was suspended for the match, however, he played the full 90 minutes as Peterhead ran out 3-2 winners on November 15.
At today’s SPFL hearing Peterhead and the player pled guilty to breach of SPFL Regulation 21 in the SPFL’s Player Registration, Transfer and Contract Regulations.
As well as being ordered to replay the fixture, the club were fined £10,000 (part suspended) while Reece Donaldson is suspended from playing in the replayed fixture.
SPFL Chief Executive Neil Doncaster said: “In the interests of sporting integrity and fairness to both sides, the game will be replayed.”
The date of the replay is still to be arranged.
