Elgin City have appointed Jim Weir as their new manager to replace Barry Wilson who resigned last week.
Weir has been without a club since leaving Brechin City in 2012, and prior to that was manager of fellow Angus sides Montrose and Arbroath
The latter provide the opposition for the 45 year-old’s first match in charge of the Moray outfit on Tuesday.
Graham Tatters revealed earlier in the week he was pleased with the “excellent” quality of applicants for the vacant post.
City are currently four points adrift at the bottom of League 2, and after convincing Tatters he is the right man for the job, the task awaiting former Hamilton Accies, Hearts and St Johnstone defender Weir is to steer Elgin up the table.
