Ryan Gauld netted a sensational volley as he registered his second goal in the colours of Sporting Lisbon on Sunday.
The Scotland Under-21 cap smashed home a dipping 20-yard strike to open the scoring for the Portuguese giants’ B team as they beat Segunda Liga opponents Oriental 4-3.
The 18-year-old clinched a £3million move from former club Dundee United to Lisbon in the summer.
Although he we was included in Sporting’s Champions League squad, the teenager – dubbed ’mini Messi’ after breaking through into Jackie McNamara’s Tannadice squad – has yet to feature for Marco Silva’s first team.
He has, however, made 15 appearances for Sporting’s second string.
His stunning opener against bottom side Oriental – who saw former Hearts midfielder Bruno Aguiar strike twice late – handed the youthful Lisbon side their first win in six games.
