Ross County manager Jim McIntyre insists his approach to the job has not changed despite his side being stuck at the foot of the Premiership.
The Staggies are currently bottom on goal difference behind St Mirren, who yesterday parted company with manager Tommy Craig, with the two sides having been adrift since McIntyre replaced Derek Adams at Victoria Park in September.
McIntyre forged strong links off the field with his players at Queen of the South and is aiming to do the same at Victoria Park.
The County manager said: “At Queen of the South, we were lucky. We trained at Broadwood in Cumbernauld every day. That was our base.
“It was fantastic because it was a council facility with all the best equipment and the pitch was superb.
“Our backroom staff set us up in the concourse with a dartboard, table tennis and I brought a microwave in.
“The boys all brought their own food. We all sat at the big tables and had lunch together.
“We still made sure we made it as proper a set-up as we could. The players weren’t just getting in the showers and then heading off after training.
“It worked a treat. The players just brought in their pasta from the night before and cooked a wee bit extra.
“We’re very lucky here at Ross County as well. The set-up is excellent and Matty, the chef, is a top cook.
“It’s important you’re not just jumping in a shower and away home. You need to get to know your team-mates.”
County have lost their last three matches, with their latest a 3-2 defeat against Dundee United on Friday night.
However, McIntyre has faith in his squad’s ability to bounce back.
McIntyre added: “We did a lot of things right against Dundee United. The only thing we didn’t do was the final bit.
“You just keep believing. The players have to keep believing, keep showing courage and keep getting into those areas – and it’ll come.
“The key for me is showing the players we believe in them.
“United showed when they got into those areas how ruthless they could be, and that’s a learning curve for us, to not be fearful of taking a shot or making that killer pass.
“But we’ve got good players as well and that’s the message to the lads.
“There’s no doubt we could have defended the goals better. We know that, we’ve looked at it. Dundee United are very good, but it’s up to us to stop that.
“It’s something we spoke about, and two of the goals were defendable. That’s something we’ve got to do better as well as at the top end of the pitch.”
