Ross County manager Jim McIntyre has warned his players they are running out of time to drag themselves away from the Premiership basement.
The Staggies needed a strong finish to last season to avoid danger and McIntyre knows his side must do something similar with just 18 games of the campaign remaining.
Despite Saturday’s game against Partick Thistle being called off due to a power cut at Victoria Park, County moved off the foot of the table on goal difference following St Mirren’s 2-0 loss to Aberdeen.
Saints are the next visitors to Dingwall in a crucial match on Saturday, and McIntyre warned his side must improve on a poor record of just two league wins.
The manager hopes to add to his squad before the end of the January transfer window and said: “We’ve got to have a better half of the season. That’s got to happen and I’m confident it will.
“The players have definitely got spirit. There have been lots of comebacks, and plenty of spirit shown in adversity. That side of it is fantastic and we’re going to need more.
“It took a while for the new signings to get their fitness levels up, but they’re definitely now where we’d expect them to be.
“Now it is just about becoming consistent and getting back-to-back results. That’s the main aim.
“On Saturday we managed to climb the table without playing which is most unusual.
“But we just want to make sure we get a good week’s training which has been difficult with the weather. We will not be any different to any other club in the country.”
No date has been set for the rearranged match against the Jags, but McIntyre hopes it will give some of his injured players time to heal.
McIntyre said: “There’s little point rushing it in this weather and it’s no bad thing because I think our squad will be stronger by the time it’s played.
“Hopefully by March we will have the likes of Rocco Quinn, Ben Frempah and the players with broken bones – Michael Gardyne and Tony Dingwall – back in the side.”
