The football fixture card somewhat got in the way of transfer chit-chat today as club focused on securing points off the pitch rather than securing player of it.
However, that hasn’t stopped clubs looking about and certain players hinting they could be in the move…
Kris Commons
Celtic midfielder looked to all the world to be saying his goobyes to the Hoops fans after this afternoon’s game when he took time to salute each of the Celtic fans before handing his boots to the supporters.
However, when asked about Commons leaving Hoops boss Ronny Deila said he was going nowhere and would now need to splash out on a new pair of boots!
The Celtic boss denied hearing anything from Bolton and joked when asked about the player’s gesture, saying “he needs to get some new ones.
“He will not go. “I have said many times before, he will not go.
“So he needs new boots. It is going to be expensive for him.”
Shaun Maloney
Diminutive attacking midfielder Shaun Maloney is quickly becoming the mascot of our daily transfer round-ups.
First we had a bid from the Premier League, yesterday he rejected the chance to join Premier League Leicester City and today it has emerged he is in talks over a move to MLS side Chicago fire.
Tal Ben Haim
Off the back of securing Gary Mackay-Steven on a pre-contract deal, Ronny Deila confirmed Celtic’s interest in Maccabi Tel Aviv winger Tal Ben Haim.
The Celtic boss said: “He is one of many names we are talking about, but there is a long way from there to a signing.”
Down south
Suso
Liverpool have announced the departure of midfielder Suso to AC Milan.
The 21-year-old Spaniard has failed to make a serious impact at Anfield since joining from Cadiz in 2011.
He made just 21 appearances in that time, scoring his only goal against Middlesbrough earlier this season.
A short statement from Liverpool read: “Everybody at Liverpool thanks Suso for his contribution and wishes him all the best for the future.”
Yaya Toure
Yaya Toure has cast fresh doubt over his future at Manchester City by admitting he doesn’t know if he will still be there next season.
Speaking to CNN, the midfielder was asked if he wanted to stay at the club and replied: ‘That’s a big question and that’s an easy question as well, and you have an easy answer… we’ll see.
“I don’t know (if I’ll stay). I’m at City. City is a great club where I’ve achieved lots of things.”
