Peterhead manager Jim McInally has cooled his interest in former Dundee United midfielder Ritchie Ryan who was available for a short term deal ahead of the season opening up in America.
The 30-year-old former Sunderland, Scunthorpe United, Boston United, Royal Antwerp and Sligo Rovers played for the Tannadice side from 2010 to 2013 before heading to Shamrock Rovers ahead of joining Ottawa Fury in December 2013.
McInally had looked into signing Ryan when he heard of his availability in December, however, he opted against it as the player wanted to train in Ireland first and then come to join the Blue Toon.
The Balmoor boss said: “Ritchie was going to come to Scotland and train however he decided that he wanted to do some work in Ireland and then come here. That is of course his decision but lessened the time I had to look at him and as it was only going to be a short term deal it never suited either party to press ahead.”
