Rangers are edging closer to signing five players on loan from Mike Ashley’s other pet project, Newcastle United.
It is believed the Gers and Newcastle are in discussions over six players, namely Curtis Good, Harris Vuckic, Remie Streete, Gael Bigirimana, Facundo Ferreyra and Kevin Mbabu, with either four or five of them to join the Gers this evening.
Curtis Good
Australian defender Good previously played in Scotland during a loan spell at Dundee United. A deal to sign him may be complicated by an injury which is expected to keep him out for a further two weeks.
Haris Vuckic
The promising youngster arrived at Newcastle as a 16-year-old in 2009.
The midfielder has enjoyed successful loan spells at both Cardiff City and Rotherham.
Facundo Ferreyra
The Argentine striker is currently on loan at Newcastle from Shakhtar Donetsk, however, he has not played a first team game at St James Park and Newcastle could cancel his current loan agreement to allow him to join the Ibrox club.
Remie Streete
English centre half, Streete, is most famous for being the player reserve team coach Willie Donachie hit, forcing his resignation.
On the pitch, Street joined Port Vale earlier this season on loan.
Gaël Bigirimana
Bigirimana joined Newcastle from Coventry in 2012, signing a five year deal, however, since then he has made just 13 first team appearances.
The midfielder has been capped by England at under-21 level.
Kevin Mbabu
Swiss defender Kevin Mbabu joined Newcastle in 2013 but has yet to make his debut for the first team.
The 19-year old has represented his country at youth level from under-16 through to under-19 level.
