Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes has called on referees to up their game after a series of major decisions went against his side.
The Dons had two goals wrongly disallowed in last weekend’s 3-0 win against Hamilton Accies, while referee Willie Collum also failed to award a penalty when Adam Rooney was bundled over by Jesus Garcia Tena.
McInnes also feels decisions went against teh Dons in their 2-1 League Cup semi-final defeat by Dundee United and their 4-0 win against Ross County.
McInnes said: “It is never easy to accept when you feel major decisions have gone against you.
“In the last three games, we have had three goals chopped off and we didn’t get two penalties that we should have. That is not common, so, of course, we are disappointed.
“We recognise mistakes can be made but in the last three games we have been treated a bit harshly.
“Thankfully, in the last couple of games it didn’t impact on the result but in the semi-final it did impact on the outcome.
“Although I sound gracious when we win, we still recognise that there is a need for some of the decisions to be better.
“I thought other than the penalty incident, the referee last week had a decent game but he was let down by his assistants.
“Like any other team, decisions will go for and against us but in the last three games big calls have gone against us.
“We recognise everyone is trying to do their job well and we don’t think there is an agenda against us. But mistakes have been made and we expect better.”
