Aberdeen have the chance to return to the top of the Premiership table tomorrow when they take on St Mirren at Pittodrie.
The Dons currently sit three points behind Celtic but with Ronny Deila’s men not due to play until Sunday, Aberdeen can join them at the top of the league with three points tomorrow.
Tomorrow’s match will also be the first time Dons midfielder Kenny McLean has come up against his former club since swapping Paisley for Aberdeen.
Aberdeen team news
- Winger Jonny Hayes misses out after suffering a hamstring injury against Hamilton.

St Mirren team news
- Saints hope to include Alan Gow, who signed this week but is awaiting international clearance to come through from Gow’s last club, Bristol Rovers.
- If the paper work is completed, Gow could make his Saints debut alongside another new signing,
- Former West Ham midfielder Kieran Sadlier is expected to make his St Mirren debut.
- St Mirren manager Gary Teale will have to watch Saturday’s clash from the Pittodrie stand after being issued with a ban for comments made about referee Steven McLean.
Derek McInnes says
“I am sure Gary will be confident his team can come here and get a result.
“St Mirren took a point off us last time out here. We dominated that game and that is a reminder to us that we have to see a game out for 90 minutes.
“They had a disappointing result last weekend but their results suggest they should maybe sitting a bit better than they currently are in the league. He has to find a way to get his team winning consistently.
“They are in their own battle along with Motherwell and Ross County. His challenge, like mine, is to try to get the three points.”
Jim Goodwin says
“We wish Kenny every success up there – just not on Saturday.
“He’s a terrific player who is very talented. Since I arrived here I’ve expected him to get a move every year. But since the start of the season this has been the most consistent he has been. He has matured a hell of a lot as a player.
“Going to Aberdeen is a terrific move for him. In this country there are two sides young players would love to move to and they are Aberdeen and Celtic, with the both of them flying high.
“Kenny has got that move he has been craving for the last couple of years but he could play in any team. He can go as high as he wants to.
“Aberdeen does not need to be his final move. If he does well there he could nick another down south to England.
“But hopefully it doesn’t come back to haunt us this weekend. I’d prefer to have him in my team than be playing against him.”
