Ross County manager Jim McIntyre is determined to make Victoria Park a venue to be feared by opposition.
The Staggies moved off the bottom of the Scottish Premiership on goal difference on Saturday with a 3-1 win at Partick Thistle, the club’s second win in a row.
County have won just twice at home all season and the manager knows home form will be crucial to the club’s hopes of pulling away from the relegation zone.
With the next two games at, home against Dundee and Partick, McIntyre knows this is the ideal time to build on the victories and said: “It has been a great two weeks for us and we knew if we managed to get a couple of wins we could close the gap. Results elsewhere have allowed us to do just that, but it’s what we do now that matters.
“We’ve given ourselves a huge lift in terms of confidence, but we must take it on. We recognise the hard work it has taken, not just in the last two games, but when results were not going our way and how important it was to keep our self-belief.
“There will be twists and turns along the way and it will not be plain sailing just because we have won two matches. We won our last home game and with two home matches coming up we want to build on results.
“It won’t be easy as Dundee are in great form and manager Paul Hartley has done a great job there. But we have done well against them this season and we want to continue that.”
Reasons to be cheerful and McIntyre was quick to hail the efforts of the supporters in the club’s resurgence.
He said: “Saturday was a terrific team effort. We did a lot of good things individually but as a team we played well. We got the break with the first goal, but once we got it we always looked a threat and there are a lot of positives.
“The supporters have also been fantastic and have responded to the performances. The numbers we had in Glasgow on Saturday was noticed and it was spoken about in the dressing room.
“We know it’s a two-way street and we need to play well to stimulate them, but I have to say they have been tremendous. Any home supporter has a right to shout what they like when they are seeing poor performances, but over the piece they have been patient and supportive and they have been very much a part of the last two performances.”
Rocco Quinn, meanwhile, has resumed full training and McIntyre hopes to have the midfielder available again before the end of March.
Quinn has not played since October 5 due to a hip injury.
