Sir Alex Ferguson has been impressed with Derek McInnes
Former Aberdeen manager Sir Alex Ferguson insists Parkhead will hold no fear for the Dons when they face champions Celtic tomorrow.
It is 30 years since the Dons last won the league championship but Ferguson who guided Aberdeen to their last title success in 1985, expects Derek McInnes’ Reds to push the Hoops all the way in the noon kick-off.
He said: “It will be close. Celtic have the more experience and a fantastic history and they have some good goalscorers in their team.
“It will be difficult for Aberdeen but Derek McInnes has done a fantastic job there. It’s been a few years since they have been in a position like they are in now.

“All credit to the manager, he has done a really good job. I don’t think they will be afraid going to Celtic Park.”
Dons manager McInnes was pleased to receive the glowing endorsement from Aberdeen’s most famous manager.
He said: “I know Sir Alex is well versed and keeps up to speed with results. He’s got a real affection for the club and wants to see us do well. Any compliment you get from him is greatly received.
“He’s right. There is no fear. There is a confidence within us.”
