Ross County attacker Craig Curran believes off-field unity within the Staggies squad is finally being transmitted on to the park.
Curran got the only goal in County’s win against Partick Thistle on Saturday in what was the Dingwall side’s fourth straight Scottish Premiership victory.
The recent upsurge in form has given County’s survival hopes a massive boost and, with just 10 games remaining, Jim McIntyre’s Staggies currently sit three points above bottom-placed St Mirren.
Englishman Curran, who joined the Staggies from Nuneaton Town in January, has quickly developed a strong rapport with his new team-mates and is delighted the results are now following.
Curran said: “There are some really good players and there is a good togetherness.
“We mix outside of football as well which is important. Everyone gets on really well and it shows when we take it on to the pitch.
“We have displayed a lot of character to get to where we are. Make no mistake, a lot of hard work has gone into it.
“I could see the levels of commitment when I first walked in the door. It’s showing. We won’t get carried away with the results, we’ll keep our feet on the floor and we’ll go for it again this week.
“The confidence levels have improved but we have got to keep going. The job is nowhere near done. We’ve got to go again this week and work hard to get another three points on Saturday.
“In the last couple of weeks we’ve displayed both sides to our game. There’s a good mix within the squad. The feeling is good around the camp.”
Curran’s goal against Thistle was his third since joining the club, with the 25 year-old having secured a regular place in the Staggies line-up alongside Northern Irish attacker Liam Boyce.
Although he admits their partnership is still developing, Curran reckons he and Boyce share a good understanding and is enjoying playing with the former Cliftonville and Werder Bremen forward.
Curran added: “It takes time to gel. We have only been playing together for a couple of weeks and still getting used to it. But we’ve got a great understanding and we both put a good shift in for the team like the rest of the lads.”
