Former Motherwell boss Stuart McCall is poised to take charge of Rangers from now until the end of the season.
McCall will replace Kenny McDowall to become the club’s third manager of the season.
McCall is currently assistant to Scotland boss Gordon Strachan but has been out of club football since leaving struggling Motherwell in November.
The 50-year-old spent seven seasons at Ibrox as a player, helping the club win six league titles, three Scottish Cups and three League Cups.
It is unclear whether McCall will retain McDowall as part of his coaching team, however, it is believed former Airdrie boss Kenny Black is in the running to be appointed McCall’s assistant.
