Jim McIntyre believes Ross County will have to tame one of the Scottish Premiership’s top form teams tomorrow to stretch their unbeaten surge to 10 matches.
After eight victories and a draw stretching back to mid-February, the Staggies host a Partick Thistle side still endangered in the tussle to escape the 11th place play-off spot.
The Jags have been on an impressive run of their own, troubling top-six clubs and remaining a point above County with five ‘split’ matches to contend with.
McIntyre said: “The realisation, once the split comes, is there for all the teams. Everyone is focused on trying to make sure they’re not in that play-off spot.
“It’s another really tough game – Thistle are on great form. They’ve taken 13 points from 18 in the last six matches and four of them have been against top five teams – Celtic, Aberdeen, Inverness and St Johnstone.
“They’re coming here in good spirits but, likewise, so are we with the run we’ve been on.
“Going into the split they will all be tough but there’s no doubt we’re facing one of the form sides, who are playing with a lot of confidence and have good players.
“We’re under no illusions how tough it is going to be.”
