German newspaper Bild is today linking Celtic with an ambitious move for Duth international Rafael Van Der Vaart.
The Dutchman, with 109 international caps to his name, is out of contract this summer and Bild believe that Celtic are leading the chase for his signature.
The attacking midfielder has enjoyed a glittering international career which has seen him play at two World Cups and three European Championships, while only a late injury forced him out of the 2014 World Cup.
At club level he has amassed transfer fees of just shy of £40million while turning out for Ajax, Hamburg, Real Madrid and Tottenham.
In 2012 Van Der Vaart returned to Hamburg, the team he left for Real Madrid in 2008 and since his return to Germany he has netted an impressive 21 goals in 83 appearances.
Celtic boss Ronny Deila already has a number of options in attacking midfield with January signings Gary Mackay -Steven and Stuart Armstrong competing with the likes of Kris Commons, Stefan Johansen and James Forrest, however, the attraction of a player with the ability and experience of Van Der Vaart appears to have proven too strong for Hoops boss Ronny Deila.
