We’re another day closer to the opening of the transfer window and, with that in mind, the P&J takes a look around all of the latest SPFL transfer rumours.
There are doses of disappointing news for Celtic, Kilmarnock, Hearts and Motherwell, meanwhile we also take a look at the latest candidates for the job of manager at Rangers.
- Celtic look like missing out on key transfer target Zakaria Bakkali. The Hoops tried to sign the 19-year-old PSV winger in January but were unable to agree a fee with his club. The Belgian youngster now has offers from 13 clubs and is believed to prefer a move to La Liga outfit Valencia.
- Kilmarnock’s move for Partick Thistle winger Kallum Higginbotham could be scuppered by former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink who is looking to add Higginbotham to his Burton Albion squad. Hibs and Rochdale are also believed to be considering moves for the player. (Daily Express)
- Hearts look unlikely to pursue their interest in Croatian defender Niko Datkovic after his club, HNK Rijeka, said they were looking for over £1million for their prize asset. The Jambos had previously made a bid, believed to be around £400,000 for the 22-year-old. (Evening News)
- Motherwell forward Lee Erwin looks set to join English Championship outfit Leeds United, despite Motherwell’s desperate attempts to keep the forward at Fir Park (Daily Mail)
- Another Motherwell forward looks to be moving south, with Australian Scott McDonald set to hook up with former Celtic team mate Gary Caldwell at Wigan Athletic. (Wigan Observer)
- Former Hearts full back Adam Eckersley has taken to social media to deny a report in the Sun today linking him with a move to Hibs.
- Hibs have completed the signing of Queen of the South winger Danny Carmichael. The 24-year-old has signed a two year contract, shortly after striker James Keatings signed a similar deal.

- The Gers reportedly offered the manager’s job to Portuguese coach Vitor Pereira, however, he has rejected the offer, opting instead to remain at Olympiacos. (The Times)
- The Ibrox club are also in talks with former Brentford boss Mark Warburton and his assistant, David Weir. However, Warburton has revealed Rangers are just one of a number of clubs he is currently speaking to. (The Herald)
