Highland League Brora Rangers have signed former Ross County captain Richard Brittain following his release by the Staggies.
The 31-year-old from Bathgate played more than 200 games for County after beginning his career at Livingston. He had two seasons at St Mirren before signing for the Dingwall club in 2008 and played a pivotal role in the rise to the Premiership and Scottish Cup final run in 2010.
Brittain was released by County manager Jim McIntyre at the end of the season but will move into part-time football after signing a three-year contract with Brora.
He said: “Brora a big club in the Highland League and it is great to be back playing alongside my team-mate from my County days in Grant Munro.
“Brora are ambitious and the thought of them again being in a race for promotion to League 2 excites me.I would have no difficulty with playing again in that league.”
Brora have also signed attacker Paul Brindle from Highland League rivals Clachnacuddin.
The 22-year-old is relishing his chance with the champions and said: “Brora were the leading scorers in the league last season and it will be great to play alongside the likes of Steven Mackay, Andy Greig and Zander Sutherland. With my pace I am sure I can add more goals in our defence of the title.
“Getting the chance to join Brora gives me the target of getting into the end of season play-offs and progressing my career.”
Brora chairman John Young has warned his club has not finished in the transfer market yet and said: “We have captured a big name in Richard which other league clubs will take notice of, but our signings are not over. Any team, no matter how successful, must always be refreshed and that is what we are doing.”
