Former Caley Thistle defender Graeme Shinnie has completed his move to Aberdeen.
The 23-year-old signed a pre-contract agreement to join his hometown club on January 25 and yesterday completed his move to Pittodrie on a three-year deal.
The Scottish Cup winner said: “I know all about the club and how big the supporter base is and after seeing what Aberdeen have done over the last couple of years under Derek McInnes it just made me really want to come and join the club and achieve things.
“I met the manager before I signed and had a chat with him about what he wanted from the club and how he saw things. That suited me and gave me a real buzz and that’s one of the reasons why I came.”
Shinnie was in the Caley Thistle team beaten by the Dons in the League Cup final in March last year and wants to be on the right end of the celebrations with his new club.
He added: “It was frustrating after last year’s cup final watching Union Street being packed with all of the supporters who were celebrating. I want to experience that myself and go and win trophies and have an open-top bus down Union Street.”
