Ross County: McIntyre says Graham will add new dimension

Ross County manager Jim McIntyre insists Brian Graham will bring an added dimension to the club’s forward line next season.

The former Dundee United attacker, who spent last season on loan at St Johnstone, has signed a two-year deal to move to Dingwall.

McIntyre was full of praise for attacking duo Liam Boyce and Craig Curran’s displays which helped keep the club in the Scottish Premiership last season but he believes the addition of a tall, bustling forward in Graham will add to the attacking options at his disposal.

The Staggies manager said: “Brian is totally different to the other forwards we have. He’s a proper target man and is strong in the air.

“Brian thrives on cross balls, so I’m sure he’ll do particularly well with the wide players we’ve got.

“He’ll give us a different option to Liam and Craig and will help to give us good competition for places.”

Graham, who scored 10 goals in 20 starts for Saints last term, adds some much-needed height to the forward line at Victoria Park but the County manager insists the 27 year-old has more qualities than just aerial prowess to the team.

McIntyre said: “Brian has very good feet for a big guy. I can see that from some of the goals he has scored for St Johnstone. He played his part in helping them finish fourth.

“We showed Brian around the club and he liked what he saw, and what we had to say.

“He’s a good age, and has got a bit of experience of the Premiership now having previously done very well at Championship level.”

Graham has been joined by former Partick Thistle goalkeeper Scott Fox and Queen of the South midfielder Ian McShane in moving to County as McIntyre reshapes his squad for the new campaign.

Attacking midfielder Michael Gardyne, who was on loan at the Staggies from Dundee United last season, has also signed a two-year deal with the club.
