Reports in the German press suggest that Hamburg are lining up a move for Celtic midfielder Stefan Johansen.
The Norwegian midfielder’s sparkling form for Celtic was rewarded with the PFA Scotland player of the year award and the Bundesliga giants are now said to be considering a bid.
Hamburg narrowly avoided relegation last season, however, Sport Bild report that the club are planning a summer rebuild to avoid a similar dogfight next season and Johansen features on the shortlist of players the club are looking to add to Bruno Labbadia’s squad.
Scouts for the German club reportedly watched the midfielder in action for Norway in Friday night’s 0-0 draw with Azerbaijan.
With two years remaining on Johansen’s current Celtic contract it is believed Hamburg would need to make a substantial bid to tempt Celtic to part with their star man who joined from Stromsgodset for £2million 18 months ago.
