Celtic look set to sign their second player of the transfer window, Caley Thistle have taken an England C international on trial and the Edinburgh clubs have been busy.
Elsewhere St Mirren have joined the transfer fun by making their first signing of the summer, while down south a former Aberdeen youngster is on the move.

- Celtic are closing in on a deal for Manchester United defender Saidy Janko.
The 19-year-old right back was in Scotland today and visited the Celtic’s training base at Lennoxtown for signing talks with Ronny Deila.
The Swiss under-19 international spent the end of last season on loan at Bolton but his move to Celtic is likely to be a permanent deal. (STV)
- Inverness Caley Thistle have taken one of the brightest talents in English non-league football on trial.

- Former Aberdeen youngster Ryan Fraser is expected to leave Bournemouth for a loan spell at Ipswich as part of the record breaking deal that will take left back Tyrone Mings to Bournemouth. (Press and Journal)
- Alan Stubbs believes Hibs are “very close” to signing a new goalkeeper, with a deal expected to be confirmed in the coming days.

- St Mirren striker Steven Thompson is on the verge of signing a new contract at the Paisley club, shortly after Ian Murray announced Scott Agnew as his first signing.
- Midfielder Scott Allan will see out his contract at Hibs despite Celtic and Rangers both interested in signing him this summer. (Scotsman)
- After Aberdeen settled their captain situation by appointing Ryan Jack as skipper, Hearts must now do the same after the departure of Danny Wilson.

- Scottish coach Ian Cathro, who left his role as Valencia assistant at the end of the season, is on the verge of being appointed Steve McLaren’s assistant manager at Newcastle.
Earlier in the summer the 28-year-old had been linked with a move to Rangers.
