Aberdeen are on the verge of signing Liverpool goalkeeper Danny Ward on loan.
The 22-year-old Welshman is set to move to Pittodrie in a season long loan deal and is expected to fight Scott Brown and Jamie Langfield for the Dons number one jersey.
Ward played a key role for Liverpool’s under-21 team last season and earlier this week put pen to paper on a new long term deal.
Shortly after signing his new five year contract at Anfield Ward spoke to the Liverpool FC website about his development: “I’m very happy now that it’s finally been sorted.
“To sign a new long-term deal is massive for me at this stage of my career so hopefully now it’s time to kick on.
“Over the last few years since I’ve been at Liverpool I feel like I’ve come on quite a lot.
“Obviously it’s a massive club and to sign a new deal means they want to keep me, which is massive for me. Hopefully I can crack on, keep going and carry on my development.”
The Welshman has represented his country at under-17, under-19 and under-21 levels and has previously spent brief loan spells at Tamworth and Morecombe.
