Wigan Athletic look set to win the race to sign Dundee United player Nadir Ciftci after having a £1million bid accepted by the Scottish club.
United have already rejected bids from Celtic and Middlesbrough, and if Ciftci can agree personal terms, then it is likely he will move to Gary Caldwell’s English League 1 side.
It would bring to an end an almost two-year chase by Wigan who have had to up their offer repeatedly in order to meet United’s demands.
Ciftci, who scored 16 goals last season, had already informed the club of his desire to leave and test himself down south.
