Celtic are on the verge of completing the signing of a right back from Manchester United but have been dealt a double blow in their bid to sign a new centre forward and they appear to have gone to rather extreme measures to make up for that…
Both Edinburgh clubs, Hibs and Hearts, are close to strengthening their squads with players from overseas and Rangers have moved closer to bringing in two more players.

- Celtic are closing in on the signature of Manchester United youngster Saidy Janko.
The 19-year-old right back traveled to Glasgow for talks last week and is expected to finalise a deal in the coming days. (Daily Record)
- But it is not all good news for Celtic who look like they could miss out on striker Nadir Ciftci after Dundee United accepted a £1million offer from Wigan Athletic for the striker.
Celtic had previously had a £900,000 offer rejected. (Press and Journal)
- Not content on missing out on one striker, the Hoops also look like the could be denied the services of Jelle Vossen.
Celtic have made an offer for the 26-year-old Genk striker, however, he is now in talks with English Championship side Burnley. (HLN)
- In order to make up for missing out on a couple of strikers, Celtic appear to have opted to sign an entire football club.

The Hoops will play their ‘home’ pre season matches at St Mirren Park this summer so have re-designed the Paisley stadium just to make sure everyone knows.
- Despite taking over St Mirren, Celtic could also look to bring a former player back to the club.

- Dutch reports suggest Hibs have tabled a bid for NAC Breda midfielder Joey Suk.
The 25-year-old defensive midfielder recently had a trial with Burton Albion. (Dutch reports)
- Hibs are also hoping to re-sign Dylan McGeouch after the midfielder impressed at Easter Road while on loan from Celtic last season. (Herald)
- Hearts look set to sign Nigerian international left back Juwon Oshaniwa from FC Ashdod.

- Rangers manager Mark Warburton is considering offering deals to former Manchester City and Doncaster right-back Reece Wabara, 23, and former Livingston and Middlesbrough winger Andy Halliday. (The Scotsman)

- Dundee and Queen of the South have agreed on a compensation package for Kevin Holt who will now move to the Premiership club.
- East Fife have announced four new signings signings this morning – former Queen of the South midfielder Pat Slattery, ex-East Stirling defender Graeme MacGregor and former Dunfermline goalkeeper Ryan Goodfellow are joined by ex Hamilton youngster Kyle Wilkie.
- Goalkeeper Ross Laidlaw has signed a new deal with Raith Rovers.
- Plymouth Argyle have signed former Rangers and Aberdeen winger Gregg Wylde following his release from St Mirren.

- Turkish midfielder Arda Turan will announce on Friday whether he is to remain at Atletico Madrid or make a move this summer. Chelsea and Manchester United are both reportedly interested in signing the 28-year-old. (Manchester Evening News)
- Nathaniel Clyne has signed a five-year contract at Liverpool, for an initial fee of £10million.
- Bournemouth have made a sixth signing of the summer, adding Sylvain Distin on a one year deal.

- Manchester City face a battle to sign midfield targets Kevin De Bruyne and Paul Pogba so will turn their attentions to Napoli’s Slovakia midfielder Marek Hamsik, 27, in a £20m deal. (Sun)
- Manchester United winger Nani is set to join Fenerbahce after agreeing personal terms with the Turkish club. (Guardian)
- Stoke City are closing in on a deal for Swiss international Xherdan Shaqiri after agreeing a fee of £12million with his club, Inter Milan.
- Stoke City are also looking to add Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu and will pay Serie A side Udinese £4.4m his services. (Daily Star)
- Aston Villa are looking to sign Argentine midfielder Esteban Cambiasso, 34, after his Leicester contract expired. (Sun)
