KF Shkendija coach Shpetim Duro insists his side deserved to beat Aberdeen at Pittodrie last night.
The Macedonians were close to securing an historic first win in Europe, but could not find the goal to beat the Dons at Pittodrie as they were eliminated on away goals following a goalless draw at Pittodrie.
Duro was frustrated his side’s enterprising play against Aberdeen did not result in a win, but insisted his players could be proud of their efforts against Derek McInnes’ side.
He said: “Football is not always fair and we showed we are as good as Aberdeen, but we have gone out on away goals.
“We were here without our supporters but we deserved to qualify for the second leg.
“Even though we are eliminated we are very proud of what we showed in these two games and of our team.”
