Former Swansea defender Thomas Atyeo has joined Aberdeen on trial.
The left footed centre back has been capped by Wales at a number of youth levels, captaining his country at under-16 level but is now available on a free transfer after his release by the Premier League side.
The 19-year-old has been training with the Dons and made his first appearance for the club last night as Aberdeen under-20’s beat Nairn County 3-0 in long serving County defender Martin MacDonald’s testimonial.
Atyeo played at the heart of the young Dons defence against the Highland League side, partnering captain Lukas Culjak.
The Welshman spent the 2013/14 season on loan at Aberystwyth, playing for the club in both the Welsh Premier League and Europa League qualifiers.
The Dons would look to add Atyeo to Paul Sheerin’s development squad, should he impress enough on trial.
