Hibs have rejected a bid from English Championship side Rotherham for star midfielder Scott Allan.
Rotherham are believed to have offered £375,000 but the bid was just the Miller’s opening offer and talks will now continue between Hibs and the English Championship as they try to agree a fee for the 23-year-old.
Rangers have already had three offers for the midfielder turned down by the Easter Road club who are adamant they will not sell their star man to their Championship rivals.
Allan, a boyhood Rangers fan, is keen to secure a move to Ibrox and handed in a transfer request last week. However, it is unclear if the former Dundee United and West Brom man would be keen on a move to Rotherham.
Allan started his career at Dundee United as a 10-year-old, spending 11 years on Tayside before joining West Brom in 2012. He struggled to break into the Baggies first team but enjoyed two loan spells at Portsmouth, as well as loan periods at Milton Keynes Dons and Birmingham City during his team south of the border.
The attacking midfielder returned to Scottish football with Hibs at the start of last season and enjoyed a stunning campaign, winning the Championship PFA Player of the Year Award.
