Celtic have launched a bid to sign long term Rangers target Scott Allan.
The Ibrox outfit have seen three bids rejected for the Hibs midfielder, however, they now face competition from their Old Firm rivals who have opened talks with the Easter Road side over a move for Allan.
Rangers had bids of £175,000 and then £225,000 both rejected before last week making their third offer, for around £300,000 which was also turned down by Easter Road chiefs.
Hibs have repeatedly said they will not sell their star man to their main rivals for the Championship title, while Allan himself rejected a move to Rotherham at the start of the month.
Celtic are yet to make an official bid but are in talks with Hibs over the 23-year-old, as the two clubs try to thrash out a deal. As well as cash swapping hands, midfielder Dylan McGeouch, who impressed on loan at Easter Road last season, is also likely to be part of any deal between the clubs.
Allan started his career at Dundee United as a 10-year-old, spending 11 years on Tayside before joining West Brom in 2012. He struggled to break into the Baggies first team but enjoyed two loan spells at Portsmouth, as well as loan periods at Milton Keynes Dons and Birmingham City during his team south of the border.
The attacking midfielder returned to Scottish football with Hibs at the start of last season and enjoyed a stunning campaign, winning the Championship PFA Player of the Year award.
