Celtic are close to completing a double signing with Ryan Christie and Jozo Simunovic both believed to be currently undergoing medicals in Glasgow.
The Hoops agreed a deal with Caley Thistle for Christie over the weekend with the Highland club confirming this morning that the 20-year-old was heading to Glasgow to discuss personal terms.
A statement released by the Highland club said: “As a result of a further approach from Celtic FC, and following discussions with the management team and the player, the board of Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC can confirm that Ryan Christie has been given leave to travel to Glasgow to discuss personal terms.”
It remains to be seen if Caley Thistle’s wish will be granted to take the 20-year-old back on loan for the remainder of the season.
Croatian defender Jozo Simunovic has been a target for the Parkhead club throughout the summer and his club, Dinamo Zagreb, confirmed this afternoon that they have agreed a fee with Celtic for the sale of the 21-year-old.
Deals for both players could be finalised and confirmed by the club tonight.
The duo will take the number of summer arrivals at Parkhead to eight following the signings of Nadir Ciftci, Dedryck Boyata, Saidy Janko, Scott Allan and Logan Bailly as well as loanee Tyler Blackett.
